CalmWalk is built to keep a private record of your walks. This policy explains what data the app uses, why it is needed, who processes it, and how you can control or delete it.
1. Who is responsible
PeaqTeq operates CalmWalk and is responsible for the processing described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact calmwalk@peaqteq.com.
2. What CalmWalk does
CalmWalk is a logging and reflection app for owners of reactive or unsure dogs. It helps you record walks, trigger events, reactions, recovery, and calm walks. It is not a veterinary, medical, diagnostic, emergency, or professional training service.
3. Data we process
- Account data: email address, user identifier, authentication provider, and authentication session information when you sign in with email, Apple, or Google.
- Dog profile data: name and optional breed, birthdate or age, sex, weight, neutered status, notes, and profile photo.
- Walk and log data: dates and times, log type, triggers, custom triggers, reaction, distance category, intensity, recovery, and optional notes.
- Preferences: language, unit system, reminder preference, and account-level settings.
- Purchase data: product identifier, purchase status, and subscription entitlement needed to provide and restore paid features. Apple or Google processes payment details; CalmWalk does not receive your full card or bank details.
- Support and deletion requests: your contact details and the information you choose to send when asking for help or deletion.
- Technical and security data: timestamps, authentication events, and limited infrastructure logs needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service.
CalmWalk does not require precise location, contacts, health-platform data, microphone recordings, or advertising identifiers. It does not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.
4. Why we process data
We process data to create and secure your account; save, display, and synchronize the records you choose to create; upload an optional private dog photo; provide app preferences and reminders; generate a PDF report at your request; provide and restore purchases; answer support requests; prevent misuse; and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable, these purposes rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing CalmWalk, your consent for optional device permissions, or a legal obligation.
5. Device storage, reminders, and reports
Your dog profile, preferences, and walk records are stored locally on your device so the app can work offline, then synchronized with your account when the Supabase-backed service is available. Reminder settings are optional, and reminder notifications are scheduled on your device. PDF reports are generated only when you request one and are shared only through the destination you choose. The privacy practices of that destination apply after you share a report.
6. Service providers and disclosures
- Supabase: authentication, database hosting, server functions, and private storage for dog profile photos.
- Apple: Apple sign-in where selected, App Store distribution, and purchase processing on Apple devices.
- Google: Google sign-in where selected, Google Play distribution, and purchase processing on Android devices.
We require service providers that process personal data for CalmWalk to provide the same or equivalent protection for that data as described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable law. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights. We do not sell personal data, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or share walk and dog data with advertisers.
7. International processing
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are protected through recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or the provider’s applicable transfer mechanism.
8. Retention and deletion
Account-linked profile, dog, walk, preference, and entitlement data is kept while your account is active. Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet reasonable security or legal record-keeping needs. When you delete your account, CalmWalk removes your authentication account, synced profile, dog profiles, private photos, walk logs, custom triggers, preferences, and account entitlements. Local app data is also removed from the device during the in-app deletion flow; uninstalling the app removes local app storage but does not by itself delete synced account data.
Deletion may not immediately remove copies held in routine, access-restricted provider backups. Those copies remain isolated, are not used for normal product operations, and expire through the provider’s backup rotation. We may retain narrowly limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, transaction accounting, dispute resolution, or law. Such records are not kept for product use.
You can delete your account in CalmWalk under Settings → Delete account, or use the web deletion request if you no longer have access to the app.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You can disable reminders in CalmWalk or in your device settings and remove an optional profile photo. Contact calmwalk@peaqteq.com to exercise a privacy right. We may ask for information needed to verify that the account belongs to you.
10. Security
CalmWalk uses safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encrypted network connections, authenticated access, account-level database controls, private photo storage, and restricted server-side account deletion. No service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
CalmWalk is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when CalmWalk, our providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated where required, and the effective date at the top will be updated.
